![]() Consumer Information - AZ Cleaning ServicesMarks, Spots and Stains:The process of routine cleaning is a process which is about removal of soil and particle contaminants. Most spots and marks will therefore come out as part of the cleaning process although a little encouragement from some special "spray and go" type of treatments may be necessary. However, stains result from transfer of dyes and may need special treatment. Stain removal using skilled technician with a good understanding of the chemistry of dyes and fibre characteristic is more expensive and may be charged on a time and materials basis. Wear and Tear:Cleaning will removed most if not all soil and will lift pile fabrics until traffic pressure compresses them back down again. The cleaning process does not restore lost, distorted, ultra-violet damaged, scratched or scored carpet or upholstery fibres. There will always be shade variation in any area of any carpet installation or upholstered fabric as the light we see reflected from the surface of these fabrics will change where the condition of fibres is different to that of their surrounding area. This is true of any material exposed to wear and tear or exposure to sunlight. It is worth bearing in mind that soil particles increases the rate at which carpets and upholstery wear out and hasten the loss in quality of their appearance. A regular maintenance program for your soft furnishings will protect your investment for longer. Regular cleaning is cheaper than replacement. The recommended carpet cleaning frequency for residential consumer is approximately every12 to 18 mounts. The recommended upholstery cleaning frequency is between 12 and 24 mounts. Shrinkage:Some carpets are more susceptible to shrinkage than others. Susceptibility to shrinkage is primarily based on carpet construction and fibre content of the backing system. A well secured installation i.e. a well fitted carpet will reduce the carpets ability to creep inwards and will keep it tight on the gripper. All shrinkage can be avoided if the correct method of cleaning is used and the technician controls the moisture correctly. Another factor is soiling (the more your carpet or upholstery is soiled more hot water we will have to use to removed it) this too has a bearing on shrinkage. This principle can be applied to all fabrics as well as carpets. |
